For the third consecutive year, I’ll be attending the Baseball Winter Meetings, the un official halfway point of the offseason.
In 2015, MetsPlus brought you inside the Winter Meetings in Nashville, and last year we were in National Harbor. This year, as you can see from the logo above, we will transition to Orlando, in the World Swan Resort, in Lake Buena Vista.
Orlando, which has hosted the event in the same venue in 2010 and 2013, will go with a “Disney/Magic” theme.
Brian Gundell, Principal and Creative Director of the eponymous Brian Gundell Graphic Design Co. designed the logo. According to SportsLogos.net:
“They had kind of gone through all of the cliché Florida aesthetics, oranges, gators, swamp, all that good stuff,” he said. “Because it’s been going for so long, you can’t repeat yourself. They often repeat venue sites, so it’s a challenge coming up with new creative for a location that’s already been featured previously.”
Per usual, the Winter Meetings, Baseball Trade Show, Rule 5 Draft, PBEO Job Fair and the Winter Meetings Fun Run will take place during the week, which we will be sharing with you.
The Meetings are slightly later than usual, as they usually align, with my name day, which is today, December 6th.
