The Plus in MetsPlus: A Little more about Citi Perks

You’ve probably seen them advertised on television. You’ve probably seen Citi Field personal in Blue t-shirts try to hand you a flyer about them, and you’ve probably realized that not everyone is eligible for them, but what are the perks? Today, we are going to figure that out.

First off, let’s look at who is eligible for Citi Perks. The main page of the Citi Perks website shows an image of three credit cards that are Citi Cards.

Even though there are three cards featured, many more offer Citi Perks.

As you can see, the Citi Double cash card, the Citi Simplicity, and Citi ThankYou preferred are all featured in the image, but those are not the only Citi cards on the market. The Citi Prestige which is often thought of as one of the best premium cards on the market (which comes with 50,00 Thank you points, an air credit and a Global Entry waiver) is also eligible for Citi Perks. Lastly, co-branded credit cards, like the Citi Platinum Select AAdvantage Master Card (which comes with no foreign transaction fees, free checked bags on American and more) is also eligible.

So, to sum up, any credit card with the Citi logo on it is eligible.

Now, let’s get to the good stuff, what is Citi Perks?

Well, it depends, and that’s a good thing. For one, your game day experience is enhanced if you have Citi Perks. Usually a Citi Perks member will get some extra promotion day-of-game (like a Let’s Go Mets sign or a rally towel). On select days, like Sunday, you can get discounted ticket prices (up to $10 off per ticket) if you pay through your Citi Card. This is not the only ticket promotion offered, though. For April, for example, Citi Cardmembers can get a free ticket for any ticket that they purchase, which you can get here.

The flexibility in Citi Perks is what makes the program interesting and worthwhile. One example of this is “Surprise Citi Perks”, where Mets fans, local busissness and random cardholders get once-in-a-lifetime opportunities like throwing out the first pitch.
