Spring Training is finally over!
The #89’s and the #93’s are off the Mets roster, and we now have 25 (actually 24) players that will head north with the team. There are a few surprises, but for the most part the Mets roster is strong, and now I ‘m looking forward to seeing the Mets play meaningful games for the first time since November 1st. Tomorrow, I’ll be releasing a special post called “How to Opening Day: ESPN Night Game Edition”, so be sure to check back into MetsPlus tomorrow.
Now, here is the Mets roster that will be heading to Kansas City:
New York Mets Opening Day (Projected) Lineup
- Curtis Granderson, RF
- David Wright, 3B
- Yoenis Cespedes, RF
- Lucas Duda, 1B
- Neil Walker, 2B
- Michael Conforto, LF
- Travis d’Arnaud, C
- Asdrubal Cabrera, SS
2016 New York Mets Starting Rotation
- Jeurys Familia, RHP
- Addison Reed, RHP
- Antonio Bastardo, LHP
- Jerry Blevins, LHP
- Hansel Robles, RHP (Who won’t join the team until the Opener due to a suspension)
- Jim Henderson, RHP
- Logan Verrett, RHP
As you may have noted, Hansel Robles will sit out the Kansas City series due to the suspension for hitting Cameron Rupp of the Phillies back in late September. Additionally, Matt Reynolds, Sean Gilmartin and Erik Goeddel didn’t make the team in favor of Henderson, Verrett and Campbell.
Tomorrow’s game airs on ESPN, at 8:37 EST. Follow Niko, @NikoMetsPlus
