Personally, I agree with Bill Lekas’ ideals. I think Zobrist should be the priority, and then immediately turn to Murphy, as I think there is a false reality that Murphy will always be there if things don’t work out.
To answer the title question, I believe the Mets best bet is to do nothing. Yes, nothing. I think the fog has to go away a little bit, so that the Mets can have a little more clarity. I know that a lot of Mets fans are going to disagree with me, but running after Zobrist and paying him whatever he wants honestly doesn’t make much sense to me.
