The 2015 New York Mets. One of the strangest ballclubs I have ever watched. A team that has been plagued with major injuries, bad luck, fierce competition, and struggling veterans. Yet through all of that, the Mets are only two games behind the first place Washington Nationals, who have claimed the NL East crown two out of the last three years, and are filthy rich in all-star talent.
The Mets played tough yesterday, but they have to play better. As a Mets fan, it pains me to say this, but the Nationals have better talent from top to bottom. Luckily for us, top to bottom is not all that matters; the Mets have better starting pitching. You can make a case that Harvey, deGrom and Syndergarrd are better than any pitcher the Nationals have. So when these guys are pitching, and when they are pitching well, the Nationals are vulnerable.
Hopefully the Mets take one more game in this series, that would keep them two games back, and more importantly, within striking distance.
