Anthony Recker re-called from Las Vegas

Anthony Recker will join the team in Washington for tomorrow’s critical series versus the  Washington Nationals after today’s 18 inning marathon. Johnny Monell, who hasn’t preformed well by any standards, will head back down to Triple-A Las Vegas. Monell  batted 178 while he was here, and didn’t provide the spark off the bench that they were hoping for. It is expected that Recker will catch Harvey tomorrow, especially after Plawecki caught 18 innings today.

Recker was tearing up Las Vegas the past month, so much so that he was named the Triple-A Pacific Coast League player of the week. Recker has been on the Mets since the 2013 season, he made his major league debut the same day that Jose Fernandez did.
