So Gee is on the Disabled List, and Thor is coming up on Tuesday, why are we only 24 until Tuesday?

The Mets put starter Dillon Gee on the disabled list yesterday, to replace Gee, the Mets said they will call up top pitching prospect Noah Syndergaard, and that Noah will make his major league debut as a Met on Tuesday, as the starter against the Cubs. Interestingly enough, this means that the Mets will have 24 men on their roster until Tuesday. This isn’t a big deal, as it doesn’t plague the bench, or the pitching staff, you really won’t feel it, but, you would feel the use of the extra bench player, like Eric “Soup” Campbell.

Campbell was demoted for catcher Johnny Monell earlier in the weak, but as we all know, Campbell is the “SOUPer utility” man. He always produces a quality at bat, and, well, it’s him or an empty roster spot. This isn’t a big deal, but it’s an example of a time the Mets could increase their hitting, but aren’t capitalizing on it. It’s saying no to a freebee. Why? We will never know.
