“deRoy” Jacob deGrom, enteres his sophomore year after pitching to a 2.69 ERA and a 9-6 Win & Loss record. deGrom was very sharp in Spring Training, his velocity is up from last fall, and deGrom’s complete composure is almost impossible to find anywhere else around the league. He will be facing the beat-up Nationals lineup that is identical to the lineup given on Monday. The Mets lineup is also fairly similar, with deGrom batting eight, a la Tony La Russa.
