Final: #MetsWIN 3-1. Mets capitalize on Nats errors

The Mets stole a win from the Washington Nationals today, April 6th, 2015. Bartolo Colon was great for 6 strong innings, making only one mistake to Bryce Harper in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Mets bats were eerily quiet as the game progressed, and, against a formidable pitcher, who was throwing a no-hitter through 5 and 2 thirds, it looked like this game could end 1-0 for the Nats but a mis- communication between Dan Uggla and Ian Desmond kept the top of the sixth going, and Lucas Duda singled to bring in two. After that, the Mets tallied on another run with a Travis d’Arnaud Triple, and the Mets bullpen was lights out for three innings.

Notes:
– Mejia was removed prior to entering the game for the save. He is reported to have elbow soreness.
– Buddy Carlyle received his first ever save in a major league game, he is 37 years of age.
– Bartolo Colon, the Mets oldest Opening Day starter, gets the victory.
-If Mejia has to go down, Eric Campbell should be recalled.
