This is something that you won’t find me at. I don’t think it will be a popular event. It’s not the postseason, it’s going to be freezing, especially in the Promenade, and it won’t have the “home” comfort. Even though it’s free, the price of food (a water was more expensive than the cheapest StubHub Mets ticket last September) will still allow the Mets to collect some revenue. Maybe The7Line or a similar group will be on-hand to provide some excitement. I suggest reading this article, and continue following and reading Just Mets!
The Mets will hold a complimentary Opening Day watch party on Monday April 6 at Citi Field, the team announced in a statement.
The event will feature SNY’s broadcast of the April 6 game on Citi Field’s new centerfield high definition Citi Vision video display; between innings entertainment and giveaways; and a fully operational Mets Fan Fest.
The gates to the Jackie Robinson Rotunda will open at 3:00 p.m. Game time in Washington, D.C., is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. Parking in Citi Field’s Lots D and F through Gate 8 will open at 2:00 p.m. and cost $10 per vehicle.
Tickets can be acquired at Mets.com/WatchParty beginning on Monday at 10 AM ET.
