David Wright recently told SNY’s Kevin Burkhardt that he wants to finish strong so that he can stop “searching” and start regaining his stroke and his routine.
I’m going to put stats aside for this one, as I feel like it is misleading in David Wright’s case. He seems “slow” this year. We are used seeing Wright make diving gold-glove caliber plays and moves and throws this year, not the case. He seems a second behind and not fully up to speed. I am convinced its a fluke, and that all will be fine moving forward, but David does need to make an adjustment , because the future for the Mets is bright, but they aren’t going anywhere soon without the Captian, so I say make adjustments in the winter, re-evaluate in St.Lucie in Febuary and fix things. Obviously Collins decision to bench Wright at the start of the exhibition games was a mistake.
